Frequently Asked Questions - Red Light Therapy
Red Light Therapy uses low-level red and near-infrared light to support healing, reduce inflammation, and help your cells do their job better. It’s science-y but painless. No heat, no UV, no drama.
Yes - very. It’s FDA-cleared, non-invasive, and doesn’t burn or tan your skin. If you’re pregnant, have epilepsy, or are taking light-sensitive meds, check with your doctor first.
You’ll have the room all to yourself, so it’s your call—but since red light works best on bare skin, most people choose to go without clothing. That said, you're welcome to wear a swimsuit, underwear, or a towel if you prefer. No pressure. No judgment. Just glow.
Each session is just 15 minutes—short, sweet, and super effective. You’ll be standing in front of our full-body red and near-infrared light panels, but if standing the whole time isn’t your thing, no worries—we’ve got a stool in the room so you can sit and still soak up all the benefits.
Red Light Therapy is generally safe for most people, but if you’re pregnant, have active cancer, epilepsy, or are taking light-sensitizing medications, it’s best to check with your doctor first.
Goggles are totally optional. The light used is non-UV and safe for most people, even around the eyes. In fact, some research suggests there may be benefits to allowing near-infrared light to reach the eyes - especially when it comes to mood, circadian rhythm, and overall cellular health.
That said, the lights are bright, so if you have light sensitivity or just prefer to rest your eyes, we’ve got goggles available. It’s your session—you choose what feels best.
Absolutely—it pairs well with pretty much everything. A lot of people stack it with sauna sessions, grounding, sound therapy or the massage recliner. It’s a great way to enhance recovery or prep your body for other therapies.
Some people feel a boost in energy or mood after just one session (yay!). But like anything good, consistency is key. Most benefits—especially skin improvements or reduced pain—build gradually over a few weeks.
For the best results, it’s ideal to come with clean, product-free skin. Lotions, oils, makeup, or sunscreen can block the light from fully absorbing into your skin - and that means less benefit. No need to be squeaky sterile, just skip the heavy stuff before your session if you can.
